A Darjeeling-born filmmaker, he studied at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). His debut short film, Ek Dhakar Jiwan, earned critical acclaim, winning the Best Short Film Peace Award at the Gothenburg Independent Film Festival and a Special Mention of the Jury in the International Competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Known for his nuanced storytelling and focus on human emotions, his work often reflects the cultural and social fabric of the Himalayan region. With a passion for cinema that transcends boundaries, he continues to create impactful films that resonate with audiences globally, showcasing his unique voice and vision.

Jyoti discovered a deep love for cinema and literature during her formative years in Darjeeling. An ardent fan of what many call “boring cinema,” she is a devoted reader and cinephile, drawn to nuanced, thought-provoking narratives. Her passion for storytelling led her to co-found Ferry Tale Pictures, focusing on regional filmmaking, including the upcoming Nepali film Jaar. Jyoti is also a co-founder of LA-7 Shorts, dedicated to experimental filmmaking, and an active member of the Indigenous Film Collective, creating short films rooted in Nepali literature for community engagement. Her journey celebrates the beauty of understated stories and the power of cultural connection through cinema.

Neeraj Rai, born and brought up in Darjeeling, holds a postgraduate degree from North Bengal University. His career began in engineering services, where he honed problem-solving and teamwork skills. After years of dedication, he transitioned to filmmaking, co-founding Ferry Tale Pictures. Neeraj brings technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a disciplined work ethic to every project. His ability to manage budgets, schedules, and logistics ensures smooth production processes. Neeraj’s engineering background and organisational skills make him an invaluable asset to Ferry Tale Pictures, contributing to the successful execution of creative visions.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Pema Rinzing Lepcha is a dynamic professional with a unique blend of IT expertise and entertainment industry experience. A founding member of Ferry Tale Pictures, Pema brings nearly 8 years of hands-on experience, excelling as a versatile line producer who adeptly coordinates and manages all aspects of film production. His portfolio includes contributions to numerous features, documentaries, and short films, showcasing his talents as both a producer and actor. With a solid IT background and creative flair, Pema ensures seamless execution and excellence in every project. His technical precision, organizational skills, and passion for cinema make him an invaluable asset to the filmmaking process.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

An alumna of the Film and Television Institute of India, she began her creative journey exploring the world of animation films. Launching her career in Mumbai, she mastered the art of pre-production and visual design, leaving her mark on advertisements, films, and e-learning projects. Her passion for storytelling and innovation led her to join as a founding member of Ferry Tale Pictures. For Jaar, she embraced multiple creative roles, excelling as both an Executive Producer and Visual Effects Producer. With a keen eye for detail and a flair for blending artistry with technology, she continues to redefine her craft, leaving a lasting impact on every project.

ACCOUNTING / FINANCE

A multifaceted professional with a passion for education and creativity, Habib began his career in Delhi’s BPO sector, gaining four years of corporate experience. Drawn back to his roots, he transitioned to education, serving as Bursar at St. Anthony’s School in Kurseong, where he managed finances with precision. In 2014, he became a founding member of Ferry Tale Pictures, a pioneering initiative producing Nepali independent films in Darjeeling. As an administrative leader, Habib combines financial expertise with creative insight, ensuring projects resonate with Nepali culture. His role spans financial management and innovative contributions, making him a vital force in blending administrative rigor with artistic vision.

HEAD OF MARKETING

Trilochan Pandey brings over two decades of rich experience in program management and strategic development across several national and international organizations such as Greenpeace, The Mountain Institute, and the Right to Food Campaign. With a proven track record of pioneering campaigns and fostering partnerships, he is transitioning from roles in policy and direct action, including his work with Control Arms and academic contributions at the School for International Training, he is set to embark on a new journey in the entertainment industry. As the Head of Marketing, PR, and Sponsorship at Ferry Tale Pictures, Trilochan will leverage his experience in communication and network cultivation to innovate and expand the company’s outreach and brand influence.
